Songs for children's funerals

Songs, hymns and lullabies

Saying goodbye to a child is something no one hopes ever to have to do. But for those who do have to go through this, we have some ideas (including songs chosen for children’s funerals we have performed for in the past), that we hope will help grieving parents and families find comfort.

Lullabies

A lullaby can be a soothing and gentle way to say goodbye. There are some beautiful lullabies in classic children’s films and pop music, as well as the traditional lullabies we learn as children.

Suo Gan (Welsh lullaby)

Brahms’ Lullaby (Cradle Song)

Hush, Little Baby (Traditional US)

La La Lu from Disney’s Lady and the Tramp

Stay Awake from Mary Poppins

Hushabye Mountain from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Goodnight My Angel by Billy Joel

Dream A Little Dream of Me by The Mamas and Papas

Nursery Rhymes

It’s possible for us to turn a favourite nursery rhyme into a lovely choral arrangement for a choir of four or eight singers. Contact us to talk about this option.
